This ASTINA MESCOLATORE or "mixer rod" is a small metal rod that is screwed onto the dosing star and agitates the ground coffee in the doser with every pull of the lever. In past versions is was a straight rounded rod that was pressed into the star, but is now affixed with an included screw.
